Welcome to netv® 2.0!  

Why 2.0?  It's a second life.  A second chance.  To hopefully do things better than the first time around.  And to make LIFE better through netv® media, events and services.  I'm glad you've joined us and I personally hope that your experience with netv® in some way enhances YOUR life or someone's life around you!  That's the whole point!

. a fun ride
NeTV® got it's start back around 1994 after envisioning the future potential of video over the Internet and the possibilities of global collaboration for learning and living.  With a first glimpse of a short video transmission over the new thing called the worldwide web, Yvonne Marie Andres, founder of the Global SchoolNet, provided inspiration for pioneering online educational collaborative projects while getting a vision for a future when everyone would be a "media producer."

We launched out with a new vision of the future, even registering the words "Internet Television" as one of our official trademarks.  The big deal in those days was whether or not and to what extent the Internet would be commercialized.  That WAS a long time ago!  We had great fun riding those first waves of the Internet, producing video with the Internet World conferences and interviewing people like Vint Cerf, "father of the Internet," and so many other online pioneers about their visions for the Internet's future.  It was a great ride, but how long would it take before "everyone would be a media producer?"

. a brief hiatus
In early 2007, the company began to falter as my body began to weaken from an agressive spread of Burkitt's Lymphoma which eventually hit Stage 4 by the time of the diagnosis.  With immediate hospitalization and a grim prognosis, through much consultation and with much reluctance, I let both netv® and my body take a long, extended rest!

 . 2010 & beyond
 Three years later, here we are.  My body is gaining some strength.  Everyone seems to be wanting to be a media producer.  And maybe it's time for LIFE 2.0 ... for myself AND netv®.  Yvonne, the Global SchoolNet and so many of our friends from LIFE 1.0 are on board.  I hope you'll join us!
